The 2017 live-action adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist is getting two sequels, both titled Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter, and Warner Bros. announced that both movies will be released this year.
The first sequel, Final Chapter – The Vengeance of Scar, focuses on the conflict against the alchemist killer Scar, and the second movie, The Final Chapter – The Final Transmutation, will feature the final battle, and will conclude the epic story started in the 2017 movie.
The live-action movies are based on the beloved anime and manga series created by Hiromu Arakawa.
Here's everything you need to know about the two Fullmetal: Alchemist: The Final Chapter movies, including their release dates, cast, plot, trailers, and the latest news:

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter – The Vengeance of Scar was released in Japanese theaters on May 20, 2022.
Its sequel, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation was released on June 24, 2022.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter Plot: What will the sequels be about?
Warning: Major spoilers for Fullmetal Alchemist ahead.
If you've read Hiromu Arawaka's manga's series or watched the Fullmetal Alchemist or the more faithful adaptation anime series Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, you already know what to expect in the live-action sequels since they are based on them. However, the films may make some minor changes as other live-action anime adaptations have done in the past.
Based on the source material, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter – The Vengeance of Scar will focus on the Elric brothers' conflict against Scar, the mysterious Ishvalan vigilante who’s out to kill State Alchemists for their war crimes against Ishval. The titular villain turned anti-hero was left out in the first Fullmetal Alchemist live-action movie due to time constraints, He is one of FMA's most complex characters and has a well-developed backstory.
Without giving away too much spoilers, the movie also ties in to deeper conflicts in the story's dark past, revealing the state's use of alchemists as "human weapons". The film sets the stage for the "final battle", which will take place in the final film of the trilogy, The Last Transmutation.
The stars from the original 2017 Fullmetal Alchemist live-action film are set to return to reprise their roles for the sequel. Ryosuke Yamada plays the protagonist Edward Elric, while Atomu Mizuishi will provide motion-capture work and voice for Alphonse Elric.
